Frequently asked questions

Straight answers to the questions people ask most about Darret and the daret.

What is Darret?

Darret is a Moroccan app that digitizes the daret (also called tontine or جمعية): a group contributes each month and each member receives the full pot in turn. Darret organizes the circle, verifies members, and tracks every payment transparently.

Is Darret free?

Yes. Darret takes no commission and has no hidden fees on your daret.

Does Darret hold my money?

No. Darret never holds the funds. Members pay each other directly; Darret only organizes the daret and tracks payments transparently.

How do I join a daret?

Sign up on darret.ma, verify your identity (CIN + selfie), then create your own daret or join one with an invite code from the organizer.

Do I need a bank account?

No. Because Darret does not hold the money, members can settle by bank transfer, cash, or any method they agree on.

How many people can be in a daret?

Usually 3 to 12 trusted people. You set the monthly amount, the number of members, and the duration when you create the circle.

How does Darret protect members?

Every member is verified with their national ID (CIN) and a selfie, there are no anonymous members, and every payment is recorded and visible to the group.

Is Darret available in darija?

Yes — the app is available in Moroccan darija, standard Arabic, and French.
